I am also affected by this bug. My screen sometimes "randomly" freezes (when making a screenshot for example...) and this:

[drm:intel_pipe_config_compare [i915]] *ERROR* mismatch in dpll_hw_state.wrpll (expected 0xb035061f, found 0x00000000)

is written in console.

It always happens when I run glxgears. The screen is frozen with exception of the mouse cursor - it moves and changes shape when I hover a hyperlink or text. The system is responding, I is just not shown on the screen (I hope I am explaining this clearly). I can switch to console with ctrl+alt+f1, then killall glxgears, then alt+f7 everything is OK again. The actions that I did when the screen was frozen (like switching window, clicking a link...) are now visible.

also interesting when i use glxgears with multiple it might only freeze on the main monitor,
specially if i move the window slowly from the second monitor to the first it might freeze while the window is visible on both monitors, but if i drag it fast to the main monitor it might freeze not.

but it 100% freeze if i want to move it outside of the main monitor.

my monitor configuration is that the second is left from the main monitor but 90% rotated.
and if i move it right out of the first monitor then it freeze.

I'm also affected by this bug, when running both glxgears and Gazebo simulator (or, its graphical client using OpenGL).

Switching to a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+F1) and back unfreezes the screen for a while. The screen only looks frozen, but normally reacts to mouse and keyboard events. This only happens if the GL window is displayed on my primary display (which is handled by the intel integrated chip). The notebook has 2 video outputs and a discrete AMD graphics, and I think only one of the outputs is handled by the AMD card, so I think one of the outputs is handled by the intel card and does not get frozen.

Ubuntu 14.04.3 64bit.

I think that before upgrading from 14.04.2 to 14.04.3 this did not happen.
