Bug Description

I gave Kubuntu 15.04 a try and found out that it did not support my USB ports. I ran lsusb and it reported as Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub. I tried connecting USBs and they did not get recognized. All those USBs were in working condition. I tried all the ports, front ports and rear ports. No matter where I plug in the USB drivers, they are not detected. I suspect this is due to kernel 3.19

Problem is that my mouse and keyboard are wireless and worse, none of them are detected due to the USB receiver not being recognized by the OS. However everything worked like charm during live and installation session.

This problem affects Linux Mint (Cinnamon) too. Maybe all the Linux distros with kernel 3.19?

It asked me to install python-apport. So I did and now it says "No module named PyQt5.QtCore".

Pawan Kartik, as per https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/50375/Intel-Desktop-Board-DG31PR an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (0071). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette .

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, and the information above is provided, then please mark this report Status Confirmed.

Thank you for your understanding.
