USB 3.0 feature not working on Asus X553MA, Working in USB 2.0 mode only

The USB 3.0 port which comes with Asus X553MA seems not to be working on Xubuntu 14.04. I have tried several kernels including 4.0 rc 4 mainline kernel. Currently getting USB 2.0 speeds of maximum 30 MBps only.
This was earlier working previously with one of the kernels or OS, i donot remember exactly. May be the stock kernel that came with Xubuntu 14.10 or Linuxmint 5.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.0 kernel[0].

I have upgraded to latest 4.0 kernel - rc7. The issues seems not to be resolved. Previously i have used 3.18 and 3.19 kernels and they also had the same issue.
