You may need to run the following from a terminal:

sudo apt-get install -f
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update

Then re-install the package.

If that does not resolve your issue, please mark the bug as "Confirmed"

Thanks for you help, I tried the clean as suggested, this is the result.

After the initial bug reported in this thread, I was not able to boot my system.

I had to roll back to 3.13.0-46 using the GRUB menu before I could successfully boot my system.

peter@myth:~$ uname -r
3.13.0-46-generic
peter@myth:~$ lsb_release -sr
14.04

I am very much a Linux Newbie, and just use this system as myth backend.
