Bug Description

Expected behavior:
Two-finger scrolling, multi-touch, etc

Actual behavior:
Regular dumb touchpad

Detail:
dmesg|grep ALPS dumps "psmouse serio3: alps: Unknown ALPS touchpad: E7=73 03 0a, EC=88 b3 18"

WORKAROUND: DKMS patching from https://github.com/he1per/psmouse-dkms-alpsv7 . This patch seems to be included in 3.17 onwards, but 3.16 and below I need to DKMS. Perhaps a backport?

Do you happen to know which commit fixes this in 3.17 or newer kernels?

I'm not sure if that is the correct commit. It's been in the kernel since 3.13-rc4:

git describe --contains 754ac45745711a7ce0067087e5b55a9c277952ad
v3.13-rc4~42

I'll take a look at the commits in 3.17 and see if any stick out.

We could also perform a "Reverse" bisect to identify the commit.

I think this may be the commit that is needed:
