Bug Description

When I connect to wifi with my builtin wireless card (Intel Corporation Wireless 7260 (rev 73)) the network is reported as connected, but I am not able to receive any data. Even pinging my wifi router leads to 100% package lost. However using a usb wifi adapter ( D-Link System AirPlus G DWL-G122 Wireless Adapter(rev.C1) [Ralink RT2571W]) everything works fine.

I already experienced this problem using Ubuntu 14.04, where I also tried using different versions of the firmware. As far as i rember (iwlwifi-7260-7.ucode, iwlwifi-7260-8.ucode, iwlwifi-7260-9.ucode), all without success. With Ubuntu 14.10. the problem is still there.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.18 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

I tested the latest mainline kernel (v3.18-rc2-utopic) however I was not able to boot this kernel. However for (v3.18-rc1-utopic) and the 3.17.1 kernel the problem seems to be solved. So far I have a fully running wifi.

I collected the logs with apport-collect. I am not sure if that matters, but those logs are collected with the ubuntu kernel (3.16.24). If you need more information or testing, just let me know. Thanks in advance!

To check whether the problem is still present in newer kernel versions, I am now testing 3.18-rc1, and this version has the same problem. What i find odd, is that the problem is still there after several reboots and trying differnet kernels, as i cant imagine of anything that changed or is different with my setup now (compared to the last days).

The problem also seems to be related to the current state of the wifi router. After a reboot of my wireless router, everything works fine again at the moment.
