Bug Description

I am experiencing problems with Intel wireless 3160 ac on Ubuntu 14.04. At the moment I am using the kernel 3.13.0-37_3.13.0-37.64+iwlltr0001 from: http://people.canonical.com/~sforshee/iwl-ltr/trusty/ and the firmware iwlwifi-3160-9-ucode.
I am usually observing the wireless behaviour through wavemon and the number of invalid misc increases continuously when I am surfing on the internet. Occasionally the pages stop loading and the the number of mac retries increases. After around of 1Gb downloaded (or less) I always losing the connection, the network-manager has to be restarted but the wireless connection cannot be recovered until I reboot. Usually the bitrate is around 1-2Mbit/s.
I have tried already the kernel 3.16.3 but the problem is even worse.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.18 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

My computer just breaks down. I tried different updates and the kernel then a black screen then I rebooted then only the toshiba start screen appears. I can only access the bios so I suspect the hard drive is gone.

Also similar problem with Intel Corporation Wireless 3160 (rev 93).
After boot wifi works, after few minutes (time vary) connection is lost.
Also after the connection is lost i can not see the access point. Enabling/disabling network (sometimes) makes the AP visible again. But again after i connect connection is lost after a while.
