This is a bug in a linux kernel driver, I'm basing off ubuntu trusty tree:

We need an unpstream commit from the NVMe driver to prevent a kernel crash. It's this one here:

I really should have marked that commit for stable, but I'm requesting it get applied back anyway since there are people hitting this bug in the field and hoping this can be add in the next kernel update.

We already confirmed the bug and fix upstream during 3.14 merge. I should have marked the commit for stable. I (embarrassingly) wrote the original code that committed this bug upstream, but I also wrote and committed the fix! :)

Thanks for the patch its a clean cherry-pick, compiles fine. Sent it to the ML for inclusion in the 3.13 extended stable and a Trusty SRU.

This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-trusty' to 'verification-done-trusty'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.
