2014-09-19 20:38:05 Thor K. H. summary Touchpad only works while middle-clicking (on an Elantech touchpad, in a Fujitsu H730) Touchpad doesn't work unless middle-click is constantly pressed (on an Elantech touchpad, in a Fujitsu H730)
2014-09-19 20:39:56 Thor K. H. description Issue: Using a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.10, I discovered that the touchpad did not work. Steps to reproduce: Install Ubuntu 14.10 on a Fujitsu H730 and attempt to use the touchpad. Further description: However, I stumbled across bug #1300427, where there was mention of both a workaround and a fix in a newer kernel. I have been able to use the workaround -- which is basically limiting the protocol of the psmouse module, such that I remove and load psmouse with proto=exps. After this, a bit further in time, I accidentally managed to click with the touchpad. It appears that the touchpad strangely enough works quite well as long as I hold down the middle click button. While holding it down, the touchpad seems to work rather well - including multitouch features. The joy is short, as it registeres no input while depressed.
