Have made a fresh utopic amd64 installation using an usb stick & the mini.iso (via multisystem)
All has been done well, and when the install program warns about: "now the system need to reboot, please remove your cd/usb before rebooting. So i have done it.
That pc have several ubuntu installations, and grub-pc is installed into /dev/sda.
Here is the trouble i get each time i boot one of the OS in verbose mode:
the boot process goes until it try to find the uuid of the usb stick used to make the installation. I can bypass the loop hitting ctrl+esc, then the boot process continue. I can't find where that uuid has been saved. But if the installer had unmounted correctly the usb stick, i should not now have that issue.
As i'm not sure about which package to blame, please change it if necessary.
