onboard usb 3.0 ports stay in deep sleep

they were working fine in 13.10, now only the yellow usb 2.0 port of my laptop has power

setting power/control to on and power/autosuspend to -1 on usb6 doesn't make them wake up

I bought an SSD for my laptop, installed 13.10 from the same usb stick as before and upgraded to 14.04... just as before. Everything works fine... can't reproduce the problem in this new installation :-\
