Bug Description

I have a Dexatek Technology Ltd. DK mini DVB-T Dongle. Rtl2832U based. It doesn't work on 13.10 386/686 machines, it skips the (Dutch) free to air channels (618000):
618000: (time: 01:17) (time: 01:19) signal ok:
 QAM_AUTO f = 618000 kHz I999B8C999D999T999G999Y999
Info: no data from NIT(actual)

BTW it is correctly recognized as per dmesg:
 [ 1373.824423] usb 1-4: Product: Rtl2832UDVB
[ 1373.824429] usb 1-4: Manufacturer: Realtek
[ 1373.824435] usb 1-4: SerialNumber: 1
[ 1373.830010] usb 1-4: dvb_usb_v2: found a 'Dexatek DK mini DVB-T Dongle' in warm state
[ 1373.885557] usb 1-4: dvb_usb_v2: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer
[ 1373.885584] DVB: registering new adapter (Dexatek DK mini DVB-T Dongle)
[ 1373.889003] usb 1-4: DVB: registering adapter 0 frontend 0 (Realtek RTL2832 (DVB-T))...

w_scan
Info: using DVB adapter auto detection.
 /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0 -> TERRESTRIAL "Realtek RTL2832 (DVB-T)": good :-)

WORKAROUND: It works fine on several (X)Ubuntu 13.10 64 bits machines.

FYI it also doesn't work on a Raspberry Pi.
Although recognized it also skips the 618000 channels.

I also tried to build it from here:

No improvements

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.13 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Not fixed in v3.13-rc8-trusty

uname -r
3.13.0-031300rc8-generic

Seems worse because w_scan now really skips 618000

610000: (time: 01:14)
618000: (time: 01:17) (time: 01:19)
626000: (time: 01:20)

FYI
I also tried 3.13.0-031300rc8-generic on my other amd64 machine
It is working there

The dongle was working fine on the same 32 bits machine Xubuntu 12.04 with:
DVB-Realtek-RTL2832U-2.2.2-10tuner-mod_kernel-3.0.0
