no suitable alsa driver for siemens c1410 laptop

Hi! I have a fujitsu siemens C1410 laptop.

After fresh install, the sound worked, but internal speakers functioned sporadically, and the mics did not work at all.
This is with the "auto" or "fujitsu" model parameter to the hda_intel driver.

After googling for quite some time, i've tried all driver settings for my hda_intel card. I have a ICH7 compatible card, ALC262 chipset.

While setting driver to "basic" or "benq" in etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base makes most stuff work, these drivers still confuse headphones with internal speakers,
provide low volume and add lots of unneccesary controls in alsamixer.

I've recompiled alsa to latest version, so this does not seem to fix the problem.

I just thought I'd report this as a feature request. I don't know how high this is prioritized, but I'm happy to help out if you need more info or testing etc.

It does not work satisfactorily for myself either
There is no sound at all through the internal speakers, how did you achieve to get sound through the internal speakers?

My theory is that the different models of laptops have channels hooked up differently in hardware, and in this model the internal speakers are hooked to some normally non-used output. The setup seems pretty similar to the benq one, so to enable that just add

options snd-hda-intel model=benq

At the bottom of etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.

Then do "/etc/init.d/alsasound restart" to restart ALSA and see if you get any sound from the speakers.

With this setup, the internal speaker volume can be adjusted with the "headphones" volume slider, and the headpone jack can be adjusted
with the "Front" slider. Both mics work aswell!!

My theory is that since the benq driver thinks that the headphone sink is actually a speaker sink, it will not amplify the signal very much, since
it believes that the speakers have built-in aplifiers.

To get decent volume, just use model=fujitsu again. With this configuration, you won't get any sound through the internal speakers though...

I'll try to find a way of swapping the channels, if its possible.

Did you get a bunch of extra volume controls? You should have if you
used the benq settings. Try to crank up the "headphone" slider and
unmute it. Check that you've selected
all volume controls in "preferences".

Other than that, I dont know. Attaching my config.
