Christopher M. Penalver (penalvch), The error occurs only in saucy since I'm using this version. In earlier versions of the system (13.04/12.10/12.04.2) does not have this problem, and the modem works the first time you connect.

Tomasz Przybył, the next step is to bisect between Saucy and Raring, in order to identify the offending commit. Could you please do this following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection ?

How can i do this? I don't understand what I must do after reading difficult text from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection. Installation kernel 3.8.0-29.42 from DEB files downoaded from https://launchpad.net/~canonical-kernel-team/+archive/ppa/+build/4873954 failed with error when dpkg configure packages. Can U explain me step by step what I must do? Apologize for my english language. Please response.

If that version fails to install, skip that particular version, and test the next latest or earliest as needed.
