And any error.

Given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all. Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request further testing. This is such a request.

We are approaching release and would like to confirm if this bug is still present. Please test again with the latest development kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still exists or not.

You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the following commands in a terminal window:

    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to New. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to Fix Released.

Thank you for your help, we really do appreciate it.

Hi CSRedRat, This issue is being worked upon. In the meantime you can install 13.10 using server dailies instead:

Thanks, but desctop option was necessary to me and I think to remaining users too. I will worry, but the problem can have mass character and at least looks very strange from all directions.

FWIW, I've noticed similar video corruption when attempting to install 13.10 deskop (either 32 or 64) in a freshly created Hyper-V install on Windows 2008 R2. The video's all screwy.

CSRedRat, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please just make a comment to this?

CSRedRat, would you need a backport to a release prior to Trusty, or may this be marked Status Invalid?

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

CSRedRat, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Trusty Tahr.

This is a significant bug in Ubuntu. If you need a fix for the bug in previous versions of Ubuntu, please perform as much as possible of the SRU Procedure [1] to bring the need to a developer's attention.

CSRedRat, if you want to pursue fixes for CentOS and openSUSE, you would want to submit bug reports to their respective bug trackers.
