You may need to run the following:

sudo apt-get install -f
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update

Then re-install the package.

If that does not resolve your issue, please mark the bug as "Confirmed"

This bug did affect me, but I found one of the install scripts was erroring out because I was running low on /boot, removing some old kernels fixed the issue for me. That said the error message wasn't enlightening.
