Bug Description

I've found that problem both on my portable (Lenovo Thinkpad T510) and fixed (Acer Veriton M290), both equipped with a nvidia video card, after upgrading to raring (so, kernel 3.8).

roughly 90% of the time the computer boot, OOPS, and then:

1) sometime X does not run (black screen), but i can ssh to the machine
2) sometime X start, but machine was problematic (hangs, there's no way to suspend it, ...)

the rest of 10% of the time, start well.

After fiddling a bit with, i've found that it suffices to blacklist the 'snd_hda_codec_hdmi' (i don't need hdmi audio) and both pc now works flawlessy.

Thanks.

Marco Gaiarin,

this looks like a problem that was fixed a while ago (bug 1169984).
Could you please test the latest kernel in -updates (3.8.0-25.37) and confirm that this bug is fixed? Thanks.
