i have an acer aspire one netbook which has been working perfectly with ubuntu. this model has a built-in webcam which was also working without any problems. during the last weeks I noticed that the webcam stopped working in all apps (from cheese to skype) and the response I had form thw lsusb command was the following:

Bus 001 Device 018: ID 064e:d101 Suyin Corp. Acer CrystalEye Webcam
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

how can I fix it?

Christos Papastathis, as per http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers an update is available for your BIOS (3310). If you update to this, does it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Thank you for your understanding.
