Hello Scott, I followed your advice of typing in the terminal command line
apt-get update then apt-get upgrade -f and the same old same old response
of "Preparing installation of linux-image-3.8.0-15-generic" in the details
dialog box "(Reading database ... 137002 files and directories currently
installed.)  Unpacking linux-image-3.8.0-generic (from
.../linux-image-3.8.0-15-generic_3.8.0-15.25_i386.deb) ..."  It froze
again.  Thank You Jose
