[Sony Corporation VGN-FW275J] suspend/resume failure

Raring Ringtail 3.8.0-5-generic i386 i686

Choosing to suspend from the session/system menu cog on the panel causes the computer to suspend as expected,
however, Suspend fails to resume.

So the work around is to append
acpi_sleep=nonvs
as a kernel parameter in the grub config file.
This causes suspend/resume to function normally.

However in 13.04 apport tells me that my computer has experienced a problem. I can't discern any effect of the problem (other than the apport window coming up).
