emm... i'm running a live installation of Ubuntu 12.04.1 from my DOK, and i'm updating it. At the first time. I went for a while, and when I came back, the screen was off and it didn't respond to the mouse or keyboard (TV screen). I did R-E-I-S-U-B and the system restarted. I had a partial upgrade now, and some things like this came up. about packages which can't be installed but the upgrde will continue and some more like this.
