Bug Description

feisty and edgy

The cursor driven by the touchpad gets frozen (can't move) evry 20 to 30 seconds. To move it, it is necessary to hit anykeyboard key.
The solution I found was to use a kernel from dapper. I read that it was possible to add "irqpoll" as kernel argument in grub but this may lead to random crash

Config:
laptop acer 1362LMI

Please provide dmesg output from when this occurs. Attach it via the web interface, do not paste into comment or attach via email.

Thanks

Here is what dmesg says after the touchpad freeze (feisty) (This probleme doesn't hapen if a Kernel 2.6.15 is used under feisty).
Pressing any key from the keyboard "unfreezes" the touchpad.

If you can, please test with the Hardy Beta Release: www.ubuntu.com/testing. If this issue still exists, per the kernel team's bug policy, can you please attach the following information. Please be sure to attach each file as a separate attachment.

* cat /proc/version_signature > version.log
* dmesg > dmesg.log
* sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log

It would also be helpful to wait to capture the entire dmesg output after you notice the touchpad freezing up.

For more information regarding the kernel team bug policy, please refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies . Thanks again and we appreciate your help and feedback.
