Bug Description

linux-image-3.5.0-17-generic version 3.5.0-17.28 (as published in quantal) is missing following kernel modules:
hfs.ko
hfsplus.ko
whole fs/nls/* directory.

I have that module on my system. Can you check in the following directory:

/lib/modules/3.5.0-17-generic/kernel/fs/hfsplus/hfsplus.ko

I don't have it.

Just do the following command and you will see that it is not part of the package:
dpkg -L linux-image-3.5.0-17-generic | grep hfs

Also do this to see deb package it originates from:
dpkg -S /lib/modules/3.5.0-17-generic/kernel/fs/hfsplus/hfsplus.ko
