Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:

1.) Install Lucid 10.04.4 on the XPS 13
2.) Install -proposed kernel
3.) Reboot system

Expected result:

Systems boots with full graphics as usual

Actual result:

System boots in failsafe mode

Lucid -proposed kernel doesn't seem to contain any suspicious commit affecting video drivers (there's only a drm/vmwgfx commit, that doesn't seem to be used in this system).

Thus, it would be good if you could try this with the currently released kernel so that we could make sure this is a kernel problem and not, for example, a problem with X.

We've retried this test run and it seems to have been a transient event. That being the case it may have been introduced at any point so we can't really invest the time in finding out exactly when. I would say we should close this bug.
