Bug Description

Utilizing the amd64 alternative install CD for 12.04, 12.04.1, 12.10 results in failure during "Select and Install Software" step.

* The ISO md5 was verified.
* Utilizing netbootin and live linux usb creator to create bootable USB drive (have tried multiple drives).
* Running media integrity check results in checksum failure.

Failure in 12.04.1:
xserver-xorg-video-ati_614.99~git20111219.aacbd629-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb

Failure in 12.10:
xserver-xorg-video-radeon_6.99.99~git20120713.6ef1ad6a-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb

Cannot run apport-collect as this is an installation issue.

Using DD to create the usb boot drive resulted in an error free installation. Not sure why a number of tools for windows were corrupting the ATI deb.

This is not a bug.

The bug is likely the filename is too long for a FAT file system. I'd guess DD makes a different filesystem.
