Bug Description

The hybrid TV card Leadtek WinFast DTV2000 H has two versions - I and J. Older version I is recognized in Ubuntu (in any release), but the newer version J isn't.
If I use "card=51" option for cx88xx module, I can get only digital TV working.
In attachment, there is a patch to make newer version J recognized and analog TV working on Hardy's kernel.

Thanks for the patch Tomas. I'll have the kernel team take a look. It doesn't look like the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 kernel has your card supported either. Beginning with the Intrepid Ibex 8.10 development cycle the linux-ubuntu-modules package was actually merged with the linux kernel package. Going forward, bugs that would have been reported against linux-ubuntu-modules should now just be reported against linux. I've gone ahead and opened the 'linux' task for this report. Thanks.

It looks like this was also submitted upstream but there's been no response:

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

1) If you are comfortable installing packages on your own, the linux-image-2.6.27-* package is currently available for you to install and test.

--or--

2) The upcoming Alpha5 for Intrepid Ibex 8.10 will contain this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. Alpha5 is set to be released Thursday Sept 4. Please watch http://www.ubuntu.com/testing for Alpha5 to be announced. You should then be able to test via a LiveCD.

Please let us know immediately if this newer 2.6.27 kernel resolves the bug reported here or if the issue remains. More importantly, please open a new bug report for each new bug/regression introduced by the 2.6.27 kernel and tag the bug report with 'linux-2.6.27'. Also, please specifically note if the issue does or does not appear in the 2.6.26 kernel. Thanks again, we really appreicate your help and feedback.

I tried Intrepid Alpha 5 and the new 2.6.27 kernel doesn't solve the problem.

Thanks Tomas. I'm change the status of this report to Fix Released for Intrepid. However, based on the current SRU policy - http://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates I'm doubtful this will be backported to Hardy so I'm closing the linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24 task. Thanks.

Was this fix applied also to the 64-kernel?
Is this fix included in the final release of 8.10?

Note: I cannot tune any analog broadcasting in the TVtime ...

I am sorry gentlemen. The TVtime needed reseting "to forgot" previous TV card settings. After that I managed to tune analog TV properly.

Per a decision made by the Ubuntu Kernel Team, bugs will longer be assigned to the ubuntu-kernel-team in Launchpad as part of the bug triage process. The ubuntu-kernel-team is being unassigned from this bug report. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies for more information. Thanks.
