No network with 2.6.24-16-generic

Hardy :

Booting 2.6.24.12-generic - Everything's just fine :-)

Booting 2.6.24-16-generic - troubles :

Sound works.
nVidia GT8600 (driver) works.
Compiz works.

nVidia MCP67 NIC does not work. Network is marked in the system tray with a - "!"

When clicking on the "shutdown" button the pc freezes.

Tried to reinstall modules, no effect.

Two steps ahead, one back :-/

After todays (22.4.2008) update, the network works just fine, but - now there is no nVidia driver to enable ?!

In pure desperation I :

- uninstalled the nvidia-glx-new and nvidia-kernel-common modules.
- Rebooted.
- Installes the modules again.
- Rebooted.

Now everything works ok.

Sorry for the delayed response. I'm glad to hear this was resolved however. Did you possibly install an updated version of the packages which resolved this? Just curious. Thanks.
