Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-ubuntu-
Hi,
I installed Gusty 7.10 to see how Ubuntu solves distributing firmwares.
I found Gusty had many firmwares in /lib/modules/
Strangely /usr/share/
As far as I know some of these firmwares such as ipw* have a specific issue about redistribution.
Is this really OK to distribute this package without any permissions under GPL?
Thanks,

I'm pretty sure not all of these firmwares may be distributed unter the GPL.
If I understood it correctly this is true for the zd1211-firmware. See http:// www.nabble. com/zd1211rw- firmware- redistribution- to9929587. html
