Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22

Since upgrading to 2.6.22-10, I have had a number of problems on my HP 6710b laptop.
On boot the mute light is lit, and no sound plays through the laptop builtin speakers.
In the gnome-volume-control program, I can unmute the sound, and then through earphones only sound works.
If I press the mute button on the laptop, the sound will work through the speakers, but volume control buttons no longer work, and after exactly 60 seconds, the laptop mutes again.
I can connect earphones, and they work fine.

There are now three volume controls in gnome-volume-control, Headphone, PCM, and Speaker.
The gnome volume osd shows the reverse of the keyboard mute light, whenever the mute button is pressed.,

I have the same problem on a HP nc6320. I received the problem when installing the 23th of August updates and upgrading to kernel 2.6.22-10 (running gutsy). I have not yet checked other kernels, will do and get back to you.

My error is :

When i press mute button he mutes at the screen but does not turn the LED off (he did that before)
I only get sound through earphones if I boot with earphones in or if I use the earphones.
I will try if sound works if i boot 1.) other kernel and 2.) if I boot without earphones plugged in.

More info below.

Thanks!
Kind Regards

/ Fredrik

OK the error is in 2.6.22-9-generic from gutsy release.

Any ideas about this problem ? Kernel-error or the gutsy-package ?

Thanks!

Oh great, ye I have a bunch of updates waiting (~130mb) but i'm only at a 3G-connection until Sunday so I will get back to this problem then when I've installed the updates.

Thanks for your response!
