during the installation via serial port (without a monitor connected), the message "omapdss DISPC error: timeout waiting for EVSYNC" appears on the screen.

I am getting the same error. I am using a 11.04 preinstalled headless images on the Pandaboard and installing through the serial console. After the installation, I don't see anything on the monitor and observe the following omapdss errors in dmesg
