Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.17
As per lspci the PCI based SD card reader in Toshiba laptops is unsupported:
02:06.0 System peripheral: Toshiba America Info Systems SD TypA Controller (rev 03)
This appears to be a well known issue but couldn't find it logged anywhere. There is another revisions affected:
