It's quite possible that this problem is caused by a bug in the Clear-TT-Buffer handling in ehci-hcd. This was brought to my attention just recently, and I wrote a pair of patches to fix it. They have not yet been submitted, but you (or anyone else reading this bug report) can test them.
I'll attach them to the bug report. They are against 2.6.30-rc6 but they probably will apply to earlier kernel versions too. You'll need to use both patches, in order.
