Bug Description
Often, when trying to transfer large files from my laptop (Gutsy) to my desktop (Dapper) using ssh over the wired network at my work, when a transfer size of c. 8 MB has been reached, the transfer stops and the connection with the outer world (Internet, ping, ssh, desktop) is gone. The laptop does not respond to pinging from the desktop. I know of no way to get the connection going again, other than the Windows-solution; a re-start. Sudo dhclient or sudo /etc/init.
1) What is going on? 2) How could I get my network back again without rebooting?

Can you paste the output of the command "dmesg"? Probably this will help finding the problem.
