From the output of your lspci, the vendor id and device id do in fact belong to the AR5006EG card. For some reason the AR5007EG seems to be using the wrong pci device id. This is not a bug in the kernel but rather with the device itself. After searching online, there are many reports commenting on this - for ex http://kerneltrap.org/mailarchive/madwifi-devel/2007/10/18/347215 . You should really raise this issue with the vendor.
