Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22
Problem: The Laptop turns power off when reaching GDM. Sometimes it is possible to log in, but then it shuts down (unclean) during the start of Gnome.
Reproduce: Happens on a laptop with a messed up DSDT (i.e. no correct battery detection). Previously (feisty) Ubuntu assumed that there was no battery present and the laptop was an power cord. Now it assumes it is on battery on the battery is on 0%.
Temporary fix (for me): boot laptop with acpi=off and blacklist battery.ko.
There are alot of laptops with broken DSDTs (and no fixes for them) so if someone with a similar setup as mine (Toshiba M30X-122) does an upgrade, they are stuck with a broken system. I think this is unwanted behavior. For further information please advise me, what you need.
