Bug Description
On my system the Ubuntu 7.10 live cd crashes at loading. 7.04 works fine and after a dist-upgrade I could launch 7.10 only with kernel 2.6.20.
Launching kernel 2.6.22-12 always end to that error :
ata1 : qc timeout (cmd 0xec)
ata1 : Failed to IDENTIFY (I/O Error, err_mask = 0x4)
My SATA controller is a VT8251, I have only one SATA hard drive connected (Samsung SP2504C)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you please add the full output of 'sudo lspci -vvnn' from the 2.6.20 kernel as an attachment to your bug report? Additionally it would be interesting to see if the Gutsy Live CD will boot if you pas s the 'all_generic_ide' option to the kernel. Thanks in advance.
