Kernel spews a lot of 'ata2'-related errors on boot (and a bit after)

I have gutsy running as a guest in kvm, and on boot it spews a LOT of messages about soft-resetting a port. Booting still continues in the background, and after a minute or so the messages stop, but it's still not very clean :)

Is this issue still present in the 2.6.22-14 kernel which was shipped with the 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon release? Please let us know.

Yes, this is still present in 7.10 release kernels.

Hardy Heron Alpha2 was recently released. It contains an updated version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron Alpha2 release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/alpha-2/ . You should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. I'm opened a new task against the actively developed kernel. However, I'm closing the report against linux-source-2.6.22 as it does not meet the criteria for a stable release update.
