Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-image-
When I boot with the new kernel all consoles and the syslog receive lots of device-mapper errors, and the DVD-ROM keeps flashing every few seconds trying to close the tray or inspect the media or something. Happens with 2.6.22-10, 2.6.22-11, not with 2.5.20-15, 2.6.20-16.
Since the problem starts when evms is started I guess it can be solved by removing evms (since it can be removed now).
But it could cause problems on upgrade since evms used to be mandatory.

I also have exactly the same symptoms but the log is different.
Here's the log message :
device-mapper : table : 254 : 2 : linear : dm-linear : Device lookup failed.
I need a quick solution as I wouldn't like to loose my data.
When I try to work as sudo, I get this message :
E: Impossible de verrouiller /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Ressource temporairement non disponible)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?
