I got a Zepto 6625WD Computer.
I got a rev3. of the sound card.
Following the advice of bytor4232 (having the linux-backports-modules-2.6.22-14-generic installed), my computer now plays sound in Kubuntu GNU/Linux!!! (though my model is not acer). ITS FANTASTIC. Worth to mention though, I can not mute the speakers without also muting the headphones, or wise versa. they are on the same channel now (Master). Said with other words, plugging in the headphones, does not make the speakers mute.
"
Try adding the following to the end of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
options snd-hda-intel model=acer
Then reboot.
"
Setting
"options snd-hda-intel model=zepto"
gives me nothing.
