2008-10-07 08:29:24 Oibaf description This afternoon have installed Feisty on a Macbook Pro 15, core2 duo. The MBP was really hot so I changed fan minimum speed this way: sudo sh -c "echo 3000 > /sys/devices/platform/applesmc/fan0_minimum_speed" and the temperature was cool. Then I upgraded to gutsy, changing feisty --> gutsy in source.list and upgrading the system via apt-get. Everything was good but the Macbook was still hot so I retry but 1. there was no applesmc 2. I made: "sudo modprobe applesmc" 3. I find applesmc under: cat /sys/devices/platform/applesmc.768/fan2_min Ok for new "location" applesmc.768, but I suspect something is wrong in fact even with fan_min at 5/6000 the temperature is high, much higher than in the afternoon with 3500. Maybe something is missing. Any idea? How may I check if appleair is loaded, too? This afternoon have installed Feisty on a Macbook Pro 15, core2 duo.
