Comment 22 for bug 128085

I can confirm that there are still no sound in Intrepid Alpha6.

The installer doesn't give the default user access to the sound group (although that may be because it's not finding a working card?)

The card is showing up in lspci as above.

I downloaded (http://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/tiwai/snapshot/alsa-driver-20080921.tar.bz2) but it needs the dev environment installed (obviously...) and the net link I have here now is way too slow so I'll look into it later...d

I've subscribed to this bug if anyone wants me to try anything
