2007-03-22 20:09:25 Thomas Jacobson description Binary package hint: wifi-radar Looks like older Thinpads like my A31p with Intersil Corporation Prism 2.5 Wavelan chipset (rev 01) will probably need to have the firmware in their Prism chips updated. I used WinUpdate-0-7-0.exe from Intersil and the latest firmware, 1.8.4 seems to work OK with Orinoco driver. Also, I spent many many hours trying to get ACPI sleep on my Thinkpad with ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV200 LX [Mobility FireGL 7800 M7] to work (tried Feisty 7.04 too, it is still broken I believe). Display comes up garbled/blank about every 5 sleeps and requiring reboot. Messed around with all reported fixes.. added the reported CPU speed fix, and a sleep in ACPI resume script, seems to make it sort of work, but it is a pain to reboot every 5 or 10 sleeps. Always happens just when I want to demonstrate how great Ubuntu is! (A fellow called Murphy can tell you about that). Feisty needs to be tested with older (2 to 4 years old) Thinkpads before it can be called ready for prime time, there are a lot of them out there...
