Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.20-12-generic

Upgraded feisty installation to most current as of March 20, 2007. Did this via:

sudo apt-get update ; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

After rebooting into the new kernel (2.6.20-12) the system hangs. I booted again with quite and splash disabled and noticed that the kernel was panic'd. The basic details of the panic are:

/lib/iomap.c:254
invalid opcode: 0000 [#1]
run_program: `/sbin/modprobe` abnormal exit
<3> usb 1-2: device not accepting addresses, error -17

After resetting and selecting 2.6.20-11 to boot from , all is well and working.

System Specifics:
Dell Latitude D610
1.5GB of RAM
40GB Hard-drive
Plugged into docking station

Per a decision made by the Ubuntu Kernel Team, bugs will longer be assigned to the ubuntu-kernel-team in Launchpad as part of the bug triage process. The ubuntu-kernel-team is being unassigned from this bug report. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies for more information. Thanks.
