I also get the same error using an Asus P5B-VM DO motherboard (G965) and an core 2 duo
HDD is SATA working as a raid and IDE DVD-RAM

but even the 2.6.20-6 amd 5 don't work
thats why i am using the 2.16.17-10 kernel
