Disabling a wireless devices in the BIOS solved the problem. System boots on a graphic sign-on.

After re-enabling wifi in BIOS system still works. The error doesn't appear anymore.

The error returned after yesterdays update. The system always freezes after checking a filesystem. I must disable a wireless card in order to sign into the system as a normal user.

Upgraded to v1.2.0 of ipw3945, which I believe fixes this problem. Should be available within the next week.

Confirming this affects a Toshiba A105-S2101. Disabling wireless at boot has no effect. This system does not use ipw3945.

Hi,

i own a lenovo 3000 n100 with a ipw3945 card and the bug is still here with linux-image-2.6.20-8.14-generic (with ipw3945 1.2.0mp says dmesg)

Robert McMeekin, can you raise a separate bug. In this bug report please give the output from lspci -v, lsmod and dmesg. Any other information you have regarding your wireless card would also be useful.

Problem is fixed on Dell D820 with 2.6.20-8-generic kernel now. I have WiFi enabled in the BIOS and "Radio Frequency Kill Switch is On".
