Comment 7 for bug 54294

I get the exact same error (cannot allocate resource region 7 & 8) on both a 1.5 yr old Acer Aspire 5021WLMi and a brand new HP DV9297ea. I do not think I have the latest BIOS update for the HP--there is an F.15 version and I have F.14--and I have never upgraded the Acer BIOS, but the HP was manufactured in feb 2007, so why would a BIOS update help? Is there any more specific info you can give Ben, that leads you to recommend a BIOS update?
