BIOS error reported in post

Bug Description

This is what flashes past on the screen:
 [ <numbers> ] ..MP-BIOS bug 8254: timer not connected to IO-APIC

After installing Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 7.04 for the first time, continuing on each bootup thereafter.
M/b= ASUS M2NPV-VM (AM2).
CPU= AMD Athlon 64 3200+

Might be related to http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8238 if it's a dual CPU machine.

I failed to notice that after the error message, it flashes past the screen: "Loading, please wait................"

I have the same problem, with a Pentium 4 Mobile CPU. After the message
"MP-BIOS bug 8254: timer not connected to IO-APIC"
Ubuntu starts normally, but tends to freeze unpredictably. With previuos versions of ubuntu there wasn't any problem. The only workaround i've found is to put "noapic" option in the kernel line of /boot/grub/menu.lst, but i don't know which functionalities i've lost.

The reported bug is not a bug. The message correctly notes that the hardware is buggy.
