I also seen that Daniel Chen recently added support for AD1986A Ultra model, and I have a AD1986A model... so, my chipset is probably treats as a AD1986A Ultra model and Amp-Out vals aren't good.

Can a developer comment on the status of this? Is a patch being pursued, do you need more information from us, etc. At the moment feisty is pretty broken for us because we have no sound. =(

I'll need your /proc/asound/card0/codec* contents attached. Do not inline them in a comment as before, because that makes reading them over a slow connection very painful.

It is too late to fix/add support for your codec. The kernel is in deep freeze, so unless there's a critical issue with booting, this bug will not be addressed before feisty releases. We've already begun accumulating fixes for a feisty-updates upload.

It's probably because of the recently-added jack sensing thing for AD1986A_LAPTOP_EAPD models.
I don't think any more it's related to the Ultra model.

Subject: [PATCH] Revert "UBUNTU: sound/pci/hda/: Add (un)muting for jack sense on Lenovo 3000 N100 (patch_analog.c)"

This reverts commit 7c726dbd0d2dd4237d9a4c9a64c41821956d8901.

Numerous people are reporting that the above commit breaks jack
sense on newer AD1986A, so revert the commit for feisty to avoid
a regression from dapper.

Closes LP: #105582
Reopens LP: #94566

Tested and verified in #ubuntu+1/Freenode on Sun Apr 15, 2007.

I'm confused. Is this problem supposed to be fixed? The status field says "Fix Committed," but in 2.6.20-15.27, I still don't get sound. Is a new build coming?

Also, if it has not been committed, does the freeze preclude backing out patches that caused this degree of regression? I noticed that multiple sound-related tests are listed on the test plan at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/Long

It's already fixed. Kernel freeze went into effect last week, so barring any /critical/ bugs (e.g., machine not booting due to SATA controller being driven improperly), feisty will release in a timely fashion. This means these lesser bugs will be addressed in a post-release (feisty-updates) kernel upload.

"Fix committed" means that I've pushed the fix to Ben, and it's in his possession.

"Fix released" means the fix is available in a publicly-accessible fashion from the Ubuntu repositories.
