Bug Description
During a new install from the 'alternate i386' install disk (the live CD install needs too much memory for my little laptop and never completes, so I dont know if this works) the acx firmware directories under /lib/firmware/
Machine is Ergo Elite 2 laptop, PII 300Mhz 192 MB RAM with IDE CD and IDE Floptical drive. acx card is BInatone WL1000 cardbus card.
Messages are generated in /var/log/messages to indicate the firmware files are missing. (acx: firmware image 'acx/default/
Using 'lspci' and 'lshw' its possible to see that the hardware is present and detected ok.
On another machine with > 192 MB RAM, the live install CD installs the files correctly. Copying the files from this machine to the faulty machine corrects the problem, and I was able to start the network configurator and set up the card.
I can't find the buggers... I couldn't find a linux-restricte d-modules- generic for 2.6.17.10
Dell latitude c600 with a dlink dwl-g630 pcmcia card...
The card worked after changing a symlink in 6.06 so I'm wondering what's going on.
