Bug Description
A co-worker with a Toshiba Satellite Pro noticed that plugging in her headphones did not mute the outside speakers. I did some googling and on an experimental whim created an /etc/modprobe.
options snd-hda-intel model=hp
Oddly enough, this seems to have done the trick. Now, her laptop is *not* an HP, so I consider this hackery sub-optimal. This may be more a problem with hardware autodetection than with the driver itself, but I was hoping that at the very least I could get a less preposterous solution than what I've just done.

I've got a Toshiba u200 laptop and the same problem.
The solution "options snd-hda-intel model=hp" works very weel so thanks.
Finally, what can be the link to Bug #22876 ?
